Full Moon in Aquarius, July 29th

Tuesday, July 28, 2026

Welcome to the full Moon on Wednesday July 29 at 14.36 in Aquarius. This is a moon of growing power, called the Buck Moon by the Algonquin nation, when new antlers are developing on stags; equally appropriately the July full moon is known as Thunder moon by the Western Abenaki people, because of the fierce electrical storms that light the skies around this time. It is a hard-working month for nature, reflected in the names, 'Salmon moon' among the Tlingit nation when salmon return to spawn, 'When chokeberries are ripe moon' by the Dakota people and 'Month of the Ripe Corn' by the Cherokee nation.

Called the Moon when all things ripen by the Dakota Sioux nation it is a moon to set aside impatience and doubt and see the opportunities rather than the setbacks.

This is a very balanced moon, necessary when forest fires and other climatic extremes rage around the globe. It replaces dramatic pronouncements in a world tipping out of control and blame games with thoughtful new perspectives that acknowledge that there are no instant fixes to problems caused collectively by humankind until we share the burdens in seeking joint resolutions.

The full moon in Aquarius is one that moves life forward in unique ways furthering original ventures and untried or previously rejected solutions.

For above all this moon says we are one world, one people and collective caring and cooperation must replace competition and fighting for scarcer resources, wars for possessing what belongs to Mother Earth, for tackling increasing poverty where once there was plenty and spiralling climate change, few whose catastrophic effects we can now deny.

On a personal level that would also benefit national, religious and international cooperation, the Aquarian full moon is good for developing or rekindling alliances, friendships pushed into the background by time or circumstances or what may be misunderstanding and poor communication.

The growing antlers, not yet grown to combat, offer power for developing  unique gifts and talents and for exploring or learning alternative medicine. as well as alternative ways of resolving seemingly insoluble problems.

The angel of this full moon is Cambiel, tall shadowy watcher or guardian archangel. He protects us from our own mistakes as well as external dangers. His candle colour is dark blue or purple, his crystals amethyst, blue lace agate and zircon and his oils and incenses benzoin, lemon and rosemary.

  • Light a purple or blue candle for Cambiel, the tall shadowy protective guardian of Aquarius and a white one for Ofaniel, silvery angel of the full moon.
  • Light next a lemon incense stick from each candle and write over the candles in the air in incense smoke what you most wish to attain by the time the full moon is in the sky again for yourself and for others, for those who are dear or whom we struggle to understand. Leave the candles and incense to burn through.

Take the first steps here and now. For this is  the moon when you find that your treasure box of talents is full to brimming once you open it, that this is the right time and place to begin, to start over or carry on with hope and tolerance until you see the next full moon in the sky, that you are the right person to make that difference
