Tuesday, June 14 at 11.51, the second supermoon of 2022 moving close to the earth

Happy approaching full Strawberry Moon on Tuesday, June 14 at 11.51, the second supermoon of 2022 moving close to the earth. It is called the Strawberry Moon by the Algonquin, Ojibwe, Dakota, and Lakota peoples in recognition of the ripening of strawberries. In Europe it is the Honey Moon, Rose Moon or Mead Moon. June is named after the Roman goddess of marriage, Juno and so a month of committed love and fertility when newly married couples would traditionally be given the fermented honey drink, mead.

This full moon is close to the Solstice, in the Southern hemisphere heralding the rebirth of the sun and in the Northern world celebrating the glorious light at full height. Wherever you live in the world this is the moon to stir your heart and get your feet dancing.

Strawberries are sweetest when ripe and do not retain that sweetness long. Bite deep into life now, forgetting fears, prohibitions; all the many troubles in the world, just for a full  moon day or two.

Ask the person you like for a date, take the first steps to a new creative business or venture, start the personal or home makeover, dance with the grouchy folk in your life, smile, tell jokes.

By the time the moon has faded and the strawberries past their sweetest you are under your own steam, striding along the path to fulfilment, surviving and thriving in spite of those difficulties.

Roses too invite us to enjoy their beauty and fragrance and not worry about their fading. Pick or buy a rose around or on Full Moon night. Whisper your dearest desire into the rose, a wish that you know may take many months to fulfil. Keep the rose in water and when it fades, scatter the petals allowing that wish to fly free.

  • Go out in the moonlight any night the moon is bright around the full moon.
  • Ripple your hands in a glass or silver colour bowl of water. Say, I wash my hands in the light of Mother Moon, asking she will fill my life with radiance and make each day of the coming month bright and glorious.
  • Leave the water, covered till morning, bottle it and splash your Moon Water on your pulse points to fill you with enthusiasm.

Adnachiel, the Sagittarian angel of learning and exploration with bright yellow robes is the angel of this full moon. He brings clear vision, wide perspectives, flexibility, open-mindedness, optimism, enthusiasm and creativity especially in writing, as well as fertility in every way.

Though we experience troublesome times in many parts of the world, let us enjoy this abundant moon in small ways.

A time to visit those places, maybe even off the main highway you regularly travel, about which you have always wondered (even mini- adventures can be exciting), trying new sports and leisure activities, learning new things just for the pleasure of it, visiting an animal rescue centre to see who needs a place in your heart. Plan a staycation weekend away and you will feel the stirring of excitement as your mind embraces adventure.

Seize the moment thatt happiness will spread and call opportunity to you.

But watch what you say and how you say it, for tact goes out of the window with this moon and don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater-wait till the moon wanes and see if you feel the same

Happy and adventurous Full Moon.
