on March 25 at 0.700 (see www.timeanddate.com for the moonrise in your region).
This moon coincides with a Penumbral lunar eclipse when the moon darkens but does not completely disappear. This occurs because the Sun, Earth and Moon are imperfectly aligned. When this happens, the moon moves through the faint outer part of earth’s shadow, the penumbra, making the eclipse more difficult to distinguish from a normal full moon.
Nevertheless, the powers of the eclipse are still present and this is a moon for making changes without losing your equilibrium or wrong-footing yourself, time perhaps to right an injustice that is throwing your life and peace of mind out of balance or if this is not possible letting it go and moving on.
This is traditionally called the Worm Moon when the ground thaws heralding the appearance of the earthworms to feed the birds, a sign of Spring returning named by the Dakota nation after the beetle larvae emerging from bark of trees.
Named the Paschal full moon also, it appears as the first Full moon after the Spring Equinox, determining the date by which Easter is calculated (as the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox).
The Spring Equinox in the northern climes and the Autumn or Fall Equinox in the Southern hemisphere are times of balance, equal day and night. Add the harmonising Libran energies of this full moon for a better chance than usual for bringing reconciliation to warring family members, neighbors, friends or colleagues, above all finding inner tranquility within yourself, not through trying to make others happy. Another maybe final try if you wish to strengthen or mend a love commitment, marriage or work partnership, while insisting on mutual respect, not sacrificing your principles for a peace at any price compromise.
Zuriel, the teacher angel who brings calm and reason to any situation, rules this full moon. He signifies justice whether legal or personal offering resistance to emotional manipulation, inequality and unwarranted guilt or obligation. Propose love under this moon for lasting happiness in marriage, moving in together and long-term commitments.
However, Zuriel is a reminder to avoid sitting on the fence in matters of principle, being railroaded into giving an opinion, flirting, falling for flattery and con-merchants or trying to live a double life especially in love.
Whether the energies of this moon and these cosmic tides can sway those involved in international peace negotiations and the cessation of suffering through war, even with the power of the eclipse to take away obstacles, we can only use our collective voices and spread peace in our own lives and those we meet.
- Light at moon-rise on the 24th and 25th in your land, a white candle saying. There is not enough darkness in the world to put out the light of a single candle and leave it to burn.
Happy peaceful Moondays.
