Happy Full Strawberry Moon in Sagittarius on June 11 at 07.43 UTC (see www.timeanddate.com for the moon rise time in your region).

The Strawberry Moon marks the ripening of the berries among the Algonquin people of  north- eastern USA  and also the Ojibwe, Dakota and Lakota nations. In Europe this moon is often referred to as the Honey Moon, Rose Moon or Mead Moon and is considered lucky for weddings, love commitments  and fertility. Newly married couples would traditionally be given the fermented honey drink, mead.

This full moon is close to the approaching Solstice, in the Southern hemisphere heralding the rebirth of the sun and in the Northern world celebrating the glorious light at full height. Wherever you live in the world this is the moon to stir your heart and get your feet dancing, to explore what lies over the horizon and the as yet unexplored unknown territory after that.

The Strawberry moon inspires reaching out for whatever life offers, abandoning fears and what ifs, seizing opportunities and pushing through obstacles to fulfilment, considering new approaches and alternatives once dismissed as improbable.

Strawberries are sweetest when ripe and do not retain that sweetness long. Bite deep into life now, forgetting prohibitions from the past that hold you back; and taking a chance on the Sagittarian full moon. But hurry for by 19.58. UTC, the moon is entering a void of course with cautious Capricorn waiting in the wings before dawn to remind you of duty, obligation and to weigh up the risks and penalty clauses if it does go wrong.

Rather at Sagittarian moonrise and the hours afterwards, ask the person you like for a date, take the first steps to a new creative business or venture, start a personal or home makeover, dance with the grouchy folk in your life, smile, tell jokes, throw caution to the winds and know almost anything is possible if you want it enough and will give your all.

By the time the moon has faded and the strawberries past their sweetest you are under your own steam, striding along the path to fulfilment, surviving and thriving despite those difficulties and as a bonus Capricorn will ensure your plans are sound and you ticked all the right boxes to freedom.

Roses too invite us to enjoy their beauty and fragrance and not worry about their fading. Pick or buy a ros as the Sagittarian Full Moon rises. Whisper your dearest desire into the rose, a wish that you know may take many months to fulfil. Keep the rose in water and when it fades, scatter the petals allowing that wish to fly free.

  • Go out in the moonlight at moon rise. Ripple your hands in a glass or silver colour bowl of water. Say, I wash my hands in the light of Mother Moon, asking she will fill my life with radiance and make each day of the coming month bright and glorious.
  • Next morning when Capricorn holds sway, ripple the water again and splash it on your pulse points saying, Take away pain, take away sorrow, let me rejoice as I greet the new morrow.

Adnachiel, the Sagittarian angel of learning and exploration with bright yellow robes is the angel of this full moon, bringing clear vision, wider perspectives, flexibility, open-mindedness, optimism, enthusiasm and creativity especially in writing, as well as fertility in every way. By the early morning the Archangel of Capricorn  Anael will add her steadying influence to the dynamic full Sagittarian moon mix and give your plans a firm foundation.

But watch what you say in the late and early hours during the void and how you say it. Don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater-wait till the tomorrow dawns, the moon wanes and see if you feel the same.

Happy and adventurous Full Moon from Debi and Cassandra.
